Navarathri Celebration

Our school celebrates NAVRATRI or GOLU by arranging the dolls, doing puja and distributing prasad. This year a novel idea was experimented.
We desired our students to build their confidence, to stand in front of a microphone and to narrate a story. This art of storytelling is learned through experience. With the Golu celebration on one side, Our Department of Library  hosted a “STORY TELLING COMPETITION” for classes LKG to Std.XII.
What a tremendous response!  The participants list crossed hundreds, the topics varied for each level. Our journey started with Panchatantra with our tiny tots and their animal friends, then continued to enjoy the pranks of our Gods and their disciples in mythological stories with our primary kids.

As we grew our thoughts progressed, the students relished on the stories of Nayanmars, Azhwars, Thiruvalluvar and so on. Our senior students decided to opt for inspiring stories of Achievers and shared stories of their role models like Abdul Kalam, Ambedkhar etc.

In this Competition 106 STUDENTS won the prizes. A PROUD MOMENT !

This COMPETITION provided an opportunity for our students to learn new ideas, valuable life lessons, Listening, Speaking and Reading skills, their  innate  creativity in voice, expression and body language while narrating, enabling the viewers to identify the artist in them.
The ‘NAV’ days were like ‘NAVAVIDHA’ experiences for the viewers who watched their performance in the videos. SAIRAM VIDYALAYA takes great pride in their performances.
