TRAINING ON BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

A training session on basic life support was organised by Indian Medical Association of Tambaram branch, Chennai in SAIRAM VIDYALAYA SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, Madipakkam on 21st January 2020 from 2.30pm to 4.00pm for nearly 15 students, 21 teaching staff and 2 non-teaching staff.
The event was headed by Ms.G.Geetha, the principal of our school along with the Co-Ordination of Ms.N.Chitra, HOD of Science Department.
Dr.Karthikeyan, Assistant professor of Balaji Medical College,Chennai and Dr.Quartzita, Assistant professor of SRM Medical College,Chennai and Mrs.Sridevi, Co-ordinator of IMA, Tambaram were responsible for the grand success of the event.
Explanations about how to save or help an injured person during a life threatening scenario using manikins was given by Dr.Quartzita and Dr.Karthikeyan in a lively manner.

The live-demo of how to give effective CPR was worth learning. We were taught how to use AED to resuscitate a person from Cardiac arrest. Beyond all, we were taught how to save a person from choking via demonstration. Vote of thanks was given by Mrs.Sridevi of English Department. Overall, the training session was so effective and all the participants found it useful.
