This year pongal was celebrated without students, but all the staff, both Teaching and Non-Teaching, participated in an energetic manner. In a traditional manner the decorations were done by our staffs – beautiful Rangolis, decorated earthen pots,
sugarcanes, vegetables, flowers and fruits etc., Apart from this, display of charts on pongal and a tableau beautifully depicting the pongal festival in a village was done by our staffs.
This year we had set three kilns for chakkara pongal and one pot of venn pongal. As the boiling pots overflowed with milk, the ululation – the exciting sound of joy with cries ‘pongalo pongal, reverberated the whole school.
On one side the prapartion of pongal was on, on the other side on stage, each department had entertainment in the form of dance, songs games – all in a creative, innovative manner.
The celebration concluded with a pooja and distribution of pongal to all. We missed our dear students in this celebration.
